Baby, It’s Cold Outside

Arizonans are finding themselves in the rare circumstance of turning up their heat instead of their AC. That means your AC unit can get a much-deserved and much-needed break. But that doesn’t mean it should be neglected.

Cooler temperatures don’t usually effect an AC unit (whether it’s in use or at rest), but other weather conditions and a lack of attention can mean a repair or a complete AC service, maintenance, and installation. Homeowners should be aware that after a dust or strong windstorm, your outdoor AC unit needs to cleared of debris and dust that could get trapped inside causing it to freeze or otherwise malfunction. While you’re at it, take a look at all visible parts and note areas that look in need of repair. A simple fix now can save you from a complete overhaul or replacement in a few short months when you’ll need AC again.

Of course, if there’s an issue with your AC unit, an issue or repair to your heating unit may not be far off (or they could be related). Be sure to schedule a heater service repair so that all your heating and air needs are met.
