There’s no question that the Arizona heat has been out of control this year. That said, if you think you’ve got it bad, then you won’t believe what’s going on in other parts of the world.
It is officially the hottest year on record and cities across the globe are experiencing incredible heat that’s never before been seen before.

Here’s a look at some of the hottest spots on Earth.

You may know that this California desert spot has the highest temperatures in the country, but did you know that it’s officially the hottest place on Earth? The old high was 134 degrees and it was briefly knocked off its pedestal when El Azizia, Libya reached 135. But, as of September 14, 2016, Death Valley has reached a high temperature of 136 degrees and is, once again, the hottest place on Earth.

4.         Lut Desert, Iran

The highest temperature ever recorded in Lut Desert, Iran is 159.3 degrees. You may wonder why it doesn’t have the title of hottest place on Earth, and the answer gets a little complicated. Essentially, that high temperature was discovered by satellite. It’s expected that anyone who tried to take a skin temperature in the region would be instantly burned. So, while it may or may not be the hottest place on Earth, the recorded temperatures there can only be confirmed by satellite and are therefore not contenders.

Often referred to as the hottest spot in Asia, Tirat Zvi has seen temperatures as high as 129 degrees.
